During this laser treatment, a diode laser beam or an Alex/NdYag technology passes through the skin towards your hair follicles. The laser energy penetrates and heats up the root of the hair, which causes damage to the follicle and prevents future hair growth.

FAQ

HOW DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL WORK?

By passing the laser beam through the skin, it heats the roots of the hair, stunting future hair growth. Depending on the specific area, treatments usually last 15 to 45 minutes.

The DiolazeXL uses selective diode laser technology with chromophore technology to target the melanin in the hair follicle, thereby sparing the surrounding skin. The Clarity 2 technology on the other hand uses Alex/NDYAG technology to target hair follicles. This treatment is effective on Fitzpatrick skin types I- VI.

HOW MANY TREATMENT SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Laser hair removal methods usually require a series of treatments. Laser hair removal typically requires 6-8 treatments to achieve the best results; more sessions are needed in areas with thinner hair and less pigmented hair. Treatments are spaced every 4-6 weeks for face, and every 6-8 weeks for body. Maintenance sessions may be required to control future hair growth.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME AFTER LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

Mild redness is common and minimal bumps (referred to as perifollicular edema) is expected; however laser hair removal treatments do not require downtime or recovery.
